Background

With innovative board sports growing—think snowboarding, wakeboarding and kite boarding, Street Surfing, a Newport, CA-based company, wanted to stand out among its peers especially during the holiday, gift giving season, and sell,
sell, sell.

The Approach

Three months leading up to the holidays, L2 Communications planned and executed an awareness program that included industry awards submissions, media relations outreach and product placements. L2 also showcased “The Wave” board as a vehicle to promote physical fitness and outdoor fun.

The Results

The Wave earned prestigious honors including The “Toy Insider” and iParenting Media Awards. In addition to being named on many lists as the hottest holiday gifts for kids, The Wave appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and received publicity coast to coast from major daily newspapers to blogs and social/viral marketing outlets.
